We went to the doctor yesterday for the twins' 15 month check-up, which is how old they're supposed to be. Caden weighed just under 29 lbs (just over 75% for his age ~ 18 months) and was 33 inches tall (just under 75%). Translation: he's short & fat! Brooke weighed just under 20 lbs and was 30 inches tall. She hasn't reached the curve yet for her actual age, but is growing/gaining weight consistently. She's just going to be very petite. Surprisingly we haven't gotten the "My, you sure had your children close together" comments lately when out. People think that they're twins! Whew! I sure got tired of explaining our situation. Doctor Chandler was impressed with Caden's vocabulary of over 30 words, and said he was doing great. She was a little concerned with Brooke's lack of speech, but was glad we're working on it with therapy. They both received the Hep A shot. Luke wanted to wait until they went to school to get their Varicella (Chicken Pox) vaccine. Thanks Honey! Typically they would have received 3 shots all together in that one day, but with our insistence, they received only one. They are scheduled to go back in one month for the MMR shot. Which is the shot that is directly linked (by parents) to Autism. No research has proven this, but many parents of children with Autism say that the proof is in their child. Luke & I really don't want the twins to receive the MMR vaccine until they are at least 2. So, hopefully we will just "skip" that appointment and go back at 2 for it!
