Daddy's Party...that went out with a bang!

Saturday we held what was supposed to be a surprise party for Luke's 30th. It was such a beautiful day outside we ate, drank, and ate some more. The twins had a blast playing with their cousins and our friends' children. We had so much fun with our friends and family that Luke decided to end the party with a bang.

Hurricane Ike destroyed 5 of our trees and our fence and we had a huge pile of limbs and debris to be burned. Luke thought it would be a good idea to have a bonfire and burn it all. Well, he "borrowed" some diesel from Larry and poured it over the burn pile. He lit it on fire...and BOOM! The pile was engulfed in flames. The boom was so loud it knocked pictures off the wall in the house. I thought Luke was severely burned, but luckily he only has minor burns to his face and is missing some eyebrows! Turns out that wasn't diesel he got from Larry, it was gasoline! We all learned a good lesson from it, and thank God Luke wasn't harmed.
