Dream Night at the Houston Zoo

"Each year around the world on the first Friday in June, more than 220 zoos and aquariums open their doors with one simple goal in mind: to create an entrance-free evening, exclusively for chronically ill and disabled children, their parents and brothers and sisters. The event is known as DreamNight. "

Like last year, we had the honor to attend this special event. I guess if you spend some time in hospitals, people remember you and invite you to fun events like this one! The zoo is virtually empty, with the exception of a few hundred people. This event always puts life in perspective for me. We see so many children who are sick. It makes me realize that life isn't so bad...

The Giraffes are Brooke's favorite! She says giraffe, giraffe, over and over everytime we go to the zoo.
